We publish an original and impartial building products guide designed to de-mystify the question of who makes what - and how you can buy it.

We also publish a small but growing library of homebuilding "how-to" stories. And, as our name might suggest, we sell house plans.

Buying plans for a new house is a big step - and we recognize that you may have questions. With that in mind:

• Feel free to call our fulfillment center, toll-free at 1-877-835-5094 with questions. Our fulfillment center representatives are friendly and helpful. They'll find answers to your questions. They also can take your order by telephone. Our fulfillment center's business hours are Mon.-Fri., 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Central Time) and Sat.-Sun., 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Central Time).

Our story: Who we are

Planshouse.com is based in historic Gardiner, Maine. The site is produced by the same team that launched and formerly published The Old House Web, a Forbes Magazine "Best of the Web" selection.

Soon after launching The Old House Web in 1999, we discovered that many old-house lovers live in places where historic houses are in short supply.

To help, we began offering plans for traditionally-styled houses -- Cape Cods, Bungalows, Victorians and other historically- grounded housing styles.

Planshouse is an outgrowth of that work.

What we offer

Today Planshouse connects you instantly and electronically with a library of more than 10,000 blueprints from the world's leading residential architects and home designers. 

You'll also find collections our favorite house plans, handpicked by editors Deb and Ken Holmes. This mini-library now includes more than 500 houses that we believe are the cream of the crop within our databases. 

We also offer plans and blueprints for garden structures, playhouses, garages and decks.

We've also added stories to Planshouse.com that we hope will make your homebuilding project easier: Our editors have written stories about new and innovative products to use in your new home -- as well as stories about the homebuilding process itself.
